WAVERLEY presents as a solid, well-cared-for Doughdish with good bones and plenty of potential for her next owner. Her topsides and hull show well overall, while the brightwork retains an attractive appearance. She is not a turnkey boat, however, and would benefit from some cosmetic attention and routine maintenance to bring her back to top form. The cockpit sole, in particular, will require repair or replacement, making her an excellent opportunity for someone looking to personalize a classic Herreshoff design.

Despite needing some work, WAVERLEY remains a capable and rewarding sailing boat. Whether you're looking for a weekend daysailer, a restoration project, or an affordable entry into the Doughdish fleet, she offers an excellent foundation and the timeless sailing qualities that have made the design so popular.

The Doughdish is a fiberglass reproduction of the original Herreshoff 121⁄2. Constructed with a foam sandwich fiberglass hull and finished with traditional teak trim, it is built to the exact hull dimensions and rig designed by Nathanael G. Herreshoff in 1914. As a result, Doughdish boats are eligible to race alongside their wooden counterparts in class races and regattas, offering classic performance with the durability and lower maintenance of fiberglass.
