The Doughdish is a fiberglass reproduction of the original Herreshoff 12 1/2 footer. It is constructed in foam sandwich fiberglass with teak trim. It is built to the exact hull dimensions and rig of the sloops designed by N. G. Herreshoff in 1914. As a result they are able to compete against the wooden boats in class races and regattas.
It is a comfortable and easy daysailer, and a wonderful boat for teaching someone to sail.
DD #302, SOUL ASSET is in great shape and a well appointed package for anyone ready for a Doughdish. She has been well taken care of, with yearly maintenance of varnish, paint and Gelcoat. She could be ready to launch for the rest of the season without delay. She shows only minor wear for her age and yearly varnish and maintenance would keep her looking great. She has been happily day sailed in NY in the last few years, but is able to take up racing if her new owner so desires.
She is currently at Ballentine's Boat Shop in Cataumet, MA, and available to be seen by appointment. Please contact Amy or Matt at via Email for more information about this listing or to schedule an appointment for viewing. Or call for Amy or Matt at 508-563-2800.
