REYNARD was built in 1949 and is one of the 35 wooden boats built at Cape Cod Shipbuilding and authorized by Herreshoff Manufacturing Company. She was originally commissioned by the Comstock Family, owners of Reynard Clipper Line, cargo shipping for which she is named. REYNARD is built to the same molds, specs, and even under the same foreman as Herreshoff Manufacturing company. Unlike the Quincy Adams built boats, this boat is built with Cedar planking over oak frames. She has Mahogany rails and coamings in excellent shape and varnish finish.
Throughout her life she has been well cared for and thoughtfully equipped. Her work has been well documented and includes restoration work done by Concordia including refastening with rivets. REYNARD is also now equipped with a streamlined Torqeedo Electric motor for when the wind dies or you need to navigate tricky waters. She is also ready to take on the race circuit with new sails and a spinnaker.
