Her mast hoops have leather stitched onto them. The gaff jaws and boom crutch have also have a layer of leather to protect the mast and boom respectively. Her running rigging has been upgraded to double braided line.
Equipped with a Streamlined Torqeedo, you need not worry if the wind fades. The current owner has added a 12 volt automatic bilge pump complete with a solar panel to keep the battery topped off.
The custom Triad trailer allows her owner to transport her home and provides a perfect cradle for winter storage, the package fits perfectly in a standard garage.
The Doughdish is a fiberglass reproduction of the original Herreshoff 12 1/2 footer. It is constructed in foam sandwich fiberglass with teak trim. It is built to the exact hull dimensions and rig of the sloops designed by N. G. Herreshoff in 1914. As a result they are able to compete against the wooden boats in class races and regattas.
