ELEGANT has just undergone an extensive restoration by her owner, who is a master craftsman. After building a shop exclusively for her, he has brought ELEGANT back to near new condition. From her keel to her deck and brightwork, ELEGANT lives up to her name. Upon completion to his satisfaction, he has decided to pass her on to her next owner and move on to his next project.
The Doughdish is a fiberglass reproduction of the original Herreshoff 12 1/2 footer. It is constructed in foam sandwich fiberglass with teak trim. It is built to the exact hull dimensions and rig of the sloops designed by N. G. Herreshoff in 1914. As a result they are able to compete against the wooden boats in class races and regattas.
